[origin: EP0270901A2] To spin filaments, fibre-forming materials are introduced in the liquid state into the central inlet of the centrifugal spinning pot. To this end it is usually necessary to exert within the spinning pot sufficient centrifugal force to achieve the pressure necessary for discharging the dope. It is also possible to use a pump to introduce the dope already pressurised into the spinning pot. However, mechanically very strong and highly heat resistant seals are required. <??>This is avoided by arranging the pump within the central inlet of the spinning pot (1) and preferably constructing it as an extruder. The extruder screw (11) is kept stationary while the extruder barrel (13) forms part of the spinning pot. <IMAGE>
