[origin: EP0271400A1] The facade covering comprises horizontal waling which is fixed onto the support wall (4) and each wale comprising a vertical flange (2) forming a support face against the support to be covered and at least one web (8) projecting from this flange. This web is perforated at regular intervals, these perforations having a relatively large surface and being associated with means (14) for directing and draining water. Cladding panels (24, 26) are carried by end borders of the webs (8) and are thus separated from the support by a ventilated- air layer in which water, from rain or from condensation, is collected and ducted to the outside. <IMAGE>
