Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0271669A2] The invention relates to a mechanism for an earth fault current circuit breaker combined with a line circuit breaker. In this case, the intention is to design an earth fault current circuit breaker which can be combined with one or more already known line circuit breakers. In contrast to the known earth fault current circuit breakers, it is intended to use only a small number of structurally uncomplicated components. The solution consists of a rotationally moving trip plate 6 which is effectively connected to an operating member 5 of the trip device 4, a return plate 15, which is subject to the pressure of a spring 20, and a trip lever 13 for the earth fault current circuit breaker, the return plate being connected in a hinged manner via a return clip 21 to a transmission member which is constructed as a switch-off clip 25 for the line circuit breaker. The single latching point in the earth fault current circuit breaker consists of the trip lever 13 which operates in conjunction with a latching lever 27. During tripping, the spring 20 fulfils a double function, namely returning the trip device 4 and switching off the line circuit breaker. <IMAGE>
