[origin: WO8800285A1] Process for metering fuel during acceleration in a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine with sequenced injection. The quantity of fuel to be injected is determined on the basis of the engine speed and acceleration, whereby after determination of the acceleration additional fuel is injected. An improvement in this process should enable a faster metering of the increased quantity of fuel injected into the engine during the acceleration process. For this purpose, the calculated quantity of fuel is injected into at least one cylinder and preferably into those cylinders for which the injected quantity has not yet been drawn in and whose intake valve has not yet been closed or whose intake cycle has not yet been completed. This takes place in particular at the moment when a trigger signal (TS) is produced corresponding to the determined quantity of additional fuel for acceleration.
