[origin: EP0272339A1] The feed mechanism for an abradant honing tool (1) serves to set the abradant surfaces (7) to a certain diameter. The feed mechanism has an expanding device (1a) which can be operated by an automatically working setting device and has an actuator (8) which can be automatically operated by an adjusting device (25) lying outside the abradant honing tool (1). The feed mechanism is of simple construction and guarantees an accurate and reliable setting and re-adjustment of the abradant honing tool (1) under high feed forces. The feed mechanism acts directly on the abradant honing tool (1) by the shortest route. <IMAGE>
