Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0272413A2] The heel holder (5) can be released when a certain load acting on the binding is exceeded. A strap arrangement (11) is arranged in the connection of a sole hold-down (17) to a part of the heel holder which is essentially fixed to the ski. Two axles (9, 12), which extend transversely to the ski and parallel to its surface in the ready-for-use position of the holder, penetrate the strap arrangement, the sole hold-down (17) being connected to the part, which is essentially fixed to the ski, via the strap arrangement (11) and the axles (9, 12) penetrating the latter. These parts can be locked together by means of a spring-loaded catch/catchpath arrangement (16, 18). In order to allow a compensation for faulty adjustments in such a heel holder (5) despite the simplest design, provision is made for the sole hold-down (17) to be connected to the part, which is essentially fixed to the ski, with positive fit merely via the strap arrangement (11) and for one of the parts of the catch/catchpath arrangement (16, 18) to be connected solely to the part, which is fixed to the ski, or the sole hold-down (17) and the other part of this arrangement to be connected to the respective other component. <IMAGE>
