[origin: EP0272440A1] The filing device is designed as a filing folder, index card box or the like and has an identification marking provided at one edge. The identification is formed by the partial surface, lying behind an edge-side window (4), of an insertion sheet (6). Furthermore, the window (4) may be formed in the folding region of a folding tab (11), essentially on one side of a folding line (F), and it may be possible for the insertion sheet (6) to be mounted on the other side of the folding line.
