[origin: US4845694A] The wrist watch case of this invention includes a caseband-back provided with supports for retaining a movement assembled from above the caseband. The caseband-back is provided with a circular opening having a diameter substantially greater than the diameter of a circle circumscribing the movement. The opening is blocked by a cap which is fixed to the caseband-back by fastening means arranged at the exterior of said circumscribing circle and at a level located above the lower face of the movement. The cap is provided with notches arranged and adapted to cooperate with a wrench supplied to the watch user thereby to open or close the cap and thus permit changing the battery. The wrench may form an integral part of the bracelet buckle.

La boîte de montre-bracelet comporte un fond-carrure (1) équipé d'appuis (3) pour supporter un mouvement (4) monté par le haut de la carrure. Le fond-carrure porte une ouverture circulaire (12) présentant un diamètre sensiblement plus grand que le diamètre du cercle circonscrivant le mouvement. L'ouverture (12) est obturée par un couvercle (9) qui est rendu solidaire du fond-carrure par des moyens de fixation (18, 19) disposés en dehors dudit cercle circonscrit et à un niveau situé au-dessus de la face inférieure (15) du mouvement. Le couvercle est muni d'encoches (29, 30) susceptibles de coopérer avec une clef mise à disposition du porteur de la montre pour ouvrir ou fermer le couvercle ce qui permet le changement de la pile (8). La clef peut faire partie intégrante de la boucle du bracelet.
