[origin: EP0272554A2] The foldable partition for shower surrounds and the like consists of at least two adjacent wall elements which are connected to one another by a folding joint. A hinge pin is attached to each of the wall elements at the top and bottom side; two adjacent hinge pins are attached by a double joint strap. A sealing strip, which is attached to the outside of the one wall element and the inside of the other wall element, passes transversely through the hinge gap formed between the two wall elements. Seen in the axial direction of the folding joint, at least two sealing strips are provided which extend in opposite directions. When swivelled in any direction, the sealing strip is thus wound up at the abutting side of the one wall element and unwound at the abutting side of the other wall element so that the sealing strip alone adopts the function of that forced guide which ensures that, when the two wall elements are swivelled, the angle formed between each wall element and the double joint strap remains essentially the same. <IMAGE>
