Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0272599A2] An electromagnetic switchgear is combined with a latching auxiliary switch, at least one of the walls of the switch housing being fitted with a perforating opening which is used for the passage of an operating device of a moving contact carrier arranged inside the housing, which contact carrier can be coupled to a contact ram of the auxiliary switch which can be combined with the switchgear. This switchgear combination is characterised by projecting retaining strips (15) being integrally formed on the edges of two mutually opposite side walls of the switchgear, and furthermore by the perforating opening for the operating device (22) being arranged in a third side wall of the switchgear housing connecting these side walls, by retaining brackets (27) emerging from mutually opposite sides of a housing of the auxiliary switch (25), which retaining brackets (27) are designed as mirror images of one another, project beyond the housing and are fitted at their free ends with latching tabs (29) facing one another, and which retaining brackets (27) engage when mounted on the switchgear (10) behind the retaining strips on the switch housing, and, finally, by the contact ram (31) of the auxiliary switch (25) protruding in a known manner from its housing and automatically latching with the facing operating device (22) of the switchgear when it is attached onto the switchgear (10). This allows a simple coupling of the switchgears which are to be connected to one another to be achieved, without increasing the installed height of the switchgear or its installed depth and without adversely affecting accessibility to the connecting points. <IMAGE>
