[origin: EP0272615A2] A connecting part (10) for making an electrically conducting connection consists of a plate-like base (11) and of retaining limbs (12, 13) which are chamfered and originate from mutually opposite sides of the base, at least one of which is fitted with lateral teeth and can be inserted in a self-locking manner in a slot-like recess (21, 22) of a dielectric material supporting part (18) holding the connecting part. The retaining limb (12, 13) of the connecting part, provided with lateral teeth (15, 16) is in this case initially chamfered by considerably less than 90 angular degrees from the plane of the base (11, 31) and is then swivelled into its slot-shaped recess (21, 22) - deforming the chamfered point of the retaining limb - for permanent attachment of the connecting part to the dielectric material supporting part, its teeth clawing into lateral walls (25, 26) of the slot-shaped recess - crushing or slightly damaging these walls. As a result of the (at least one) retaining limb swivelling rather than longitudinally, axially sliding into the slot-shaped recess, better retention of the connecting part to the dielectric material supporting part is achieved and, at the same time, surface damage to the side walls of the recess is virtually avoided. <IMAGE>
