L'invention concerne un dispositif d'étanchéité d'une enceinte contenant un fluide dilatable, notamment dans un ensemble de connexion électrique, agencé pour prendre en compte les variations de volume du fluide (48). A cette fin, un joint (30) est monté dans un logement (16) dans lequel il est serré pour réaliser l'étanchéité. Selon une caractéristique de l'invention, le logement (16) a une longueur (L1) constituée par un espace de serrage initial (44) du joint (30), et par un espace de dégagement (45) dans lequel le joint peut pénétrer sous la poussée du fluide (48).
