[origin: DE3771859D1] Removal of Fe oxide deposits from the inside of a vessel, esp. a steam generator in a nuclear power station, is effected by (a) filling the vessel with a soln. of a salt formed from a complexing acid (I), a volatile alkalising agent (II) and a reducing agent (II); (b) maintaining the soln. at a temp of 150-250 deg.C which is just below decompsn temp of (I); and (c) emptying the vessel.
