Abstract (en)
To preserve paper, especially having a high content of mechanical pulp, the paper to be treated, which can already be in the form of a block of up to 400 pages is impregnated with a preservating solution in a vacuum chamber, followed by shock freezing and freeze drying. A mixture of strengthening and neutralising agents, preferably a mixed solution of methylcellulose and calcium hydroxide, serves as the preservating solution.

Zur Konservierung von Papier, insbesonders von solchem mit hohem Holzschliffzusatz, wird das zu behandelnde Papier, welches ohne weiteres auch in Form eines Blockes bis zu etwa 4Ø;Ø Seiten vorliegen kann, in einer Vakuumkammer mit Konservierungslösung getränkt und anschließend schockgefroren und gefriergetrocknet. Als Konservierungslösung dient eine Mischung aus Festigungsmittel und Neutralisierungsagenz, vorzugsweise eine Mischungslösung von Methylcellulose und Kalziumhydroxid.
