[origin: EP0274107A2] Inside the lamp bulb (22) of a linear incandescent lamp, which bulb is provided with at least one cap (23) of a type which is conventional for linear incandescent lamps, the discharge vessel (25) of a fluorescent lamp is fixed inside the lamp bulb (22). The operating electronics (29) are arranged on at least one printed circuit board (26), combined, if required, into individual functional groups. The necessary electrical connections between the printed circuit board (26), the cap (23) and, if required, the other lamp end, are produced by means of leads (27, 32). The non-illuminating end regions of the lamp bulb (22) are covered with a light-absorbent sleeve (24). <IMAGE>
