An interlocking brace (20) for a connector assembly comprising a pin strip (10) and a socket strip (16), is constructed as a C-shaped bracket with a longitudinal centre web (22), which is intended to rest on one of the strips (10, 16) and with C-limbs (24) placed on its longitudinal ends, the limbs (24) having latching elements (34) for engaging with matching latching elements (38) on the connector assembly. To reduce the space requirement for the interlocking brace and to simplify opening of the plug connection, the C-limbs (24) each have a first latching element (26) which is intended to be engaged with first matching latching elements (28) on the strip (16), the latter being close to the centre web (22) during interlocking of the connector assembly. On the outside of the C-limbs (24) there is arranged in each case a latching pawl (34), which can pivot about an axis at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the centre web (22) and the C-limbs (24) and has a second latching element (36) which is intended in each case to engage with a second matching latching element (38) on the strip (10) of the connector assembly remote from the centre web (22), the latching pawls (34) having outwardly facing handle strips (40) on their ends adjacent to the centre web (22). <IMAGE>

Ein Verriegelungsbügel (20) für eine eine Stiftleiste (10) und eine Buchsenleiste (16) umfassende Steckeranordnung ist als C-förmige Klammer mit einem zur Anlage an einer der Leisten (10,16) bestimmten länglichen Mittelsteg (22) und mit an dessen Längsenden ansetzenden C-Schenkeln (24) ausgebildet, die Rastelemente (34) zum Eingriff mit Gegenrastelementen (38) an der Steckeranordnung aufweisen. Zur Verminderung des Platzbedarfes des Verriegelungsbügels und zur Erleichterung des Öffnens der Steckverbindung weisen die C-Schenkel (24) jeweils erste Rastelemente (26) auf, die zum Eingriff mit ersten Gegenrastelementen (28) an der Leiste (16) bestimmt sind, die bei Verriegelung der Steckeranordnung dem Mittelsteg (22) nahe ist. An der Außenseite der C-Schenkel (24) ist jeweils eine um eine zur Längsrichtung von Mittelsteg (22) und C-Schenkel (24) senkrechte Achse schwenkbare Rastklinke (34) mit einem zweiten Rastelement (36) angeordnet, das jeweils zum Eingriff mit einem zweiten Gegenrastelement (38) an der dem Mittelsteg (22) fernen Leiste (10) der Steckeranordnung bestimmt ist, wobei die Rastklinken (34) an ihren dem Mittelsteg (22) nahen Ende nach außen gewandte Griffleisten (40) aufweisen.
