Um eine Spannzwinge mit einer Schiene (16) und zwei Spanngliedern (12, 14), von denen mindestens eines auf der Schiene (16) verschieblich gelagert und gegenüber dieser mittels mindestens einem in Richtung einer gegen die Schiene verkantenden Stellung federbeaufschlagten Verkantungsplättchen (50, 52) festlegbar ist sowie nach Verschwenken dieses Verkantungsplättchens (50, 52) entgegen der Federkraftbeaufschlagung in eine nicht verkantende Stellung verschiebbar ist, derart zu verbessern, daß das Spannglied (12, 14) ohne Einwirkung einer Bedienungsperson frei verschiebbar ist, wird vorgeschlagen, daß das Verkantungsplättchen (50, 52) in der nicht verkantenden Stellung verrastbar ist.
