[origin: EP0275500A2] The invention serves to improve the stability of masts made of materials which can be chemically or microbiologically attacked, in which case the masts are if need be first of all provided with a chemically or microbiologically passivated protective paint coating and, after the protective paint coating has dried, are wrapped in a binding in the vicinity of the bottom contact point, which binding consists of a fibre mat and is impregnated with a hardening moisture- resistant plastic.
