An indicating device (1) with a signal transmission device for indicating the wear condition of the brushes of a DC motor (8) or DC generator, has a contact (7), built into the brushes, which closes (2, 3, 15, 11, 5, 7, 10) a signal transmission circuit when a predetermined wear condition is reached, the said circuit containing a current sensor device (3). In order to produce a wear condition indicating device which requires as few additional electrical components on the machine as possible, or none at all, and in which, as far as possible, only one line is required between the machine (8) and the indicating unit (1), it is proposed to arrange in the signal transmission circuit (2, 3, 15, 11, 5, 7, 10) a frequency generator (2) and at least one capacitor (5 or 15) whose capacitance is tuned such that the capacitor (5 or 15) is conductive for current of the frequency determined by the frequency generator (2).

Eine Meldeeinrichtung (1) mit einer Signalgebeinrichtung für das Melden des Verschleißzustandes der Bürsten eines Gleichstrommotors (8) oder Gleichstromgenerators hat einen in der Bürste eingebauten Kontakt (7), der bei Erreichen eines vorbestimmten Verschleißzustandes einen Signalgabestromkreis schließt (2, 3, 15, 11, 5, 7, 10), in dem sich eine Stromfühlereinrichtung (3) befindet. Um eine Verschleißzustandsmeldeeinrichtung zu schaffen, die möglichst wenige oder keine zusätzlichen elektrischen Bauteile an der Maschine erfordert und bei der möglichst nur eine Leitung zwischen der Maschine (8) und dem Meldegerät (1) erforderlich ist, wird vorgeschlagen, in dem Signalgabestromkreis (2, 3, 15, 11, 5, 7, 10) einen Frequenzgenerator (2) und mindestens einen Kondensator (5 bzw. 15) anzuordnen, dessen Kapazität dahingehend abgestimmt ist, daß der Kondensator (5 bzw. 15) für Strom der vom Frequenzgenerator (2) bestimmten Frequenz durchlässig ist.
