Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0276419A2] Toroidal-core transformers normally have a plurality of windings wound concentrically spaced at a distance from the cross-section of the toroidal-core (9). By means of insulating rings (7), preferably of roof-shaped design, which are supported on opposite sides of a toroidal-core, a plurality of concentric windings (6, 10) can be fitted, with a defined separation from the toroidal-core. In comparison to insulation arrangements with plastic housings (troughs) this results in improved dielectric strength with the same dimensions. Moreover, toroidal-core transformers of different core heights can be produced with the same types of insulating ring. <IMAGE>
