Abstract (en)
A plurality of external memory apparatuses (12a, 12b, 14) are connected to a plurality of ECRS (10a SIMILAR 10c), thereby constituting an in-line system. Data to be registered is entered to the ECR (10a) to which the external memory apparatuses (12a, 12b, 14) are not directly connected and then, a processing mode is designated by command keys (8, 9) of a keyboard (2) in the ECR (10). A processing file is determined in response to the processing mode, so that the external memory apparatuses (12a, 12b, 14) having the processing file is searched. The data to be registered are transmitted to the searched external memory apparatus, so that the data to be registered are processed by the corresponding processing file.
