Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0276857A2] A method for heating a heat-transferring flowing medium, in particular for space-heating purposes, with the aid of a boiler which is connected on the outlet side of a gasification furnace and in which no direct contact of the heat-exchange media takes place. According to the invention, the method is characterised in that, in the boiler, the burning gases from the gasification furnace are deflected by 90 degrees and the fuel particles which are carried along by the gas current and separated therefrom upon deflection are conveyed to a post-combustion. A boiler for implementation of the method, which is connected between the flame pipe (F) of a gasification furnace (0) and the take- off (7) of a chimney and has means for heating a heat-transferring flowing medium through the hot waste-gas current without direct contact of the heat-exchange media involved, is characterised by a two-part boiler housing (1). Inside the lower part (2) of the boiler housing (1), which adjoins the flame pipe (F), a combustion chamber (4) is designed. In the housing upper part (3), which is sealed towards the lower part (2), a heat exchanger (6) with vertical flow- through direction is arranged, which is surrounded by heat- transferring flowing medium and which is in flow connection at the inlet with the combustion chamber (4) of the lower part (2) and at the outlet with the chimney take-off (7). <IMAGE>
