The mechanism comprises a screw (18, 21) mounted on a frame (2) so as to be linked axially, but not angularly, to this frame, and a nut (5) or worm wheel (20) capable of interacting with the screw, applicable in particular to the adjustment of the longitudinal position of a vehicle seat, the frame in question then being the upper profile of a rail supporting this seat. At least one of the two ends of the screw terminates in a conical end piece (9, 22) capable of interacting with a complementary conical recess (11, 23) formed in a threaded insert (12, 24) itself capable of interacting by screwing with a complementary threaded bore (13, 25) included in the frame (2) of the mechanism. <IMAGE>

Il s'agit d'un mécanisme de réglage de position à vis, comprenant une vis (18,21) montée sur une ossature (2) de façon à être liée axialement, mais non angulairement, à cette ossature et un écrou (5) ou roue tangente (20) propre à coagir avec la vis, applicable notamment au réglage de la position longitudinale d'un siège de véhicule, l'ossature considérée étant alors le profilé supérieur d'une glissière supportant ce siège. L'une au moins des deux extrémités de la vis est terminée par un embout conique (9,22) propre à coagir avec un alvéole conique complémentaire (11,23) évidé dans un pion fileté (12,24) lui-même propre à coagir par vissage avec un alésage fileté complémentaire (13,25) compris par l'ossature (2) du mécanisme.
