There is described a spherical fibre aggregate, in particular for use as a fill or upholstery material, composed of fibres and/or filaments which have been spherically coiled and which essentially form a fibre ball. To devise congeneric fibre balls which possess better properties, in particular for use as fill material, it is proposed that the fibre balls shall comprise a mixture of main fibres and binding fibres. The binding fibres shall have been bonded to the main fibres at cross-over points. <??>In one embodiment, the binding fibres are two-component fibres, in which one component has in particular a high modulus compared with the other component and preferably only one of the components has a binding action. <??>the binding fibres ensure a three-dimensional network of all the fibres in the fibre balls.

Es wird ein sphärisches Faseraggregat, insbesondere als Füll- oder Polstermaterial aus Fasern und / oder Fäden, die sphärisch verwickelt sind und im wesentlichen eine Faserkugel bilden, beschrieben. Um gattungsgemäße Faserkugeln zu schaffen, die insbesondere für einen Einsatz als Füllmaterial bessere Eigenschaften aufweisen, wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Faserkugeln ein Gemisch von Hauptfasern und Bindefasern aufweisen. Die Bindefasern sind mit den Hauptfasern an Kreuzungsstellen verbunden. Gemäß einer Ausführungsform sind die Bindefasern Zweikomponentenfasern, wobei die eine Komponente gegenüber der anderen Komponente insbesondere einen starken, tragenden Modul aufweist und vorzugsweise nur die eine Komponente eine Bindewirkung ausübt. Durch die Bindefasern liegt ein dreidimensionales gebundenes Netzwerk aller Fasern in den Faserkugeln vor.
