[origin: EP0277592A2] Bulletproof door element, the door leaf 1 of which consists partially of multi-layer wood which is formed from numerous thin hardwood veneers glued with fibre directions running crosswise, in which the multi-layer wood forms a central shell 2 which is connected on both sides to side shells 2, 3 made of thicker veneers which are bonded crosswise. The side shells 2, 3 are in each case at least a third as thick as the central shell 1.
