[origin: EP0277859A1] A carton of this type is prepared from a blank made from foldable material, cut out and folded into the shape of a tray. The central panel (2) of the blank forming the base wall of the carton has a window (3) cut out in it, the said window being surrounded by two vertical lateral walls formed by flaps (4, 5) and two horizontal walls formed by flaps (6, 7). These flaps (6, 7) comprise means for holding the articles, consisting of cutouts (13, 14) in the inward-folded flaps of the carton. Fastening tongues (17, 18, 19, 20) keep the carton in shape by gluing and locking tabs (28-31), fitted into notches (27) in the fastening tongues, keep the means for holding the articles in position. <IMAGE>
