[origin: EP0277936A2] The invention relates to a lateral sealing device for screens, in which the screen moves relative to the side walls, preferably for those with a grid having a plurality of movable grid bars connected by means of flexible screen elements (2) which are fastened to them and bridge the gaps between the grid bars and which are alternately moved or tensioned and relaxed by means of the movable grid bars. The lateral sealing means (1) consisting of flexible material is connected firmly to the screen elements (2) on the one hand and to frame side parts (3) on the other hand. The lateral sealing means is improved in that it consists of a series of sealing leaves (5) which overlap one another in an imbricated manner and which are longitudinally curved between their edges (6, 10) fastened respectively to the screen elements (2) and to the frame side parts (3). At the same time, the sealing leaves (5) can have, in the region (6) of connection to the screen elements (2), corner cutouts (9), of which the width corresponds to the fastening region and the length to the overlap region. <IMAGE>
