Abstract (en)
A method for the control of pitch in an aqueous system used in pulp or paper making is disclosed which comprises adding to the system, or to the pulp making or paper making machinery, a water soluble polymer or copolymer possessing recurring units of the formula: <CHEM> where each of R1 and R2 independently represents hydrogen or methyl, X represents hydrogen, -(CH2CH2NH)nH or -(CH2CH2CH2NH)nH, x represents 0 or 1, preferably 1, and n represents 1 to 3, preferably 1, or an acid addition salt or quaternary ammonium salt thereof.
