Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8801191A1] A ski safety binding has an electronic evaluation circuit (5) connected with force sensors (4) that generate electric signals, with an electric current supply, for example a battery, and with an electromechanical release element (13). The release element (13) controls at least one locking mechanism (8, 10, 22, 21, 18; 10, 26, 22', 18) having a snap-in arrangement and holding a side of the heel (17) in its working position. In order to ensure a high working safety of such a ski binding in the very difficult conditions in which winter sports are practised, and to allow it to open by means of reduced releasing forces, thus saving the energy supply, the electromechanical release element (13) is mounted in a hermetically closed housing (6) and drives a control element, preferably a shaft (7), that passes hermetically through the wall (6a, 6b) of the housing, and drives the locking mechanism (8, 10, 22, 21, 18; 10, 26, 22', 18) that engages the heel side (17).
