The can opener possesses a conveying wheel (4) which can be driven by a drive mechanism, is rotatably mounted on a housing (1) and, to convey a preserve can (24), engages under the flange (6) from outside at the engagement point (29). A cutter (3), which is mounted so as to be movable/pivotable from a starting position (20) into a cutting position (28), is constructed at a fixed distance from the conveying wheel (4), on the housing on an axis of rotation (13) above the top (10), the said cutter possessing a piercing tip (17) and a cutting edge (8), adjoining the piercing tip (17), with a cutting point (9) in engagement with the top (10) in the cutting position (28). To guide the preserve can (24), there is constructed on the housing (1) a first stop (7), which is fastened to the can opener behind the engagement point (29) in the direction of movement (12) of the preserve can (24). Provided on the cutter (3) is a second stop (15) which, in the cutting position (28) of the can opener, acts from above on the flange (6). <IMAGE>

Der Dosenöffner weist ein von einem Antrieb antreibbares, an einem Gehäuse (1) drehbar gelagertes Transportrad (4) auf, das zum Transport einer Konservendose (24) den Bördelrand (6) von außen an der Eingriffsstelle (29) untergreift. In einem festen Abstand vom Transportrad (4) ist am Gehäuse an einer Drehachse (13) oberhalb des Deckels (10) ein aus einer Ausgangsposition (20) in eine Schneidposition (28) bewegbar/schwenkbar gelagertes Messer (3) ausgebildet, das eine Einstechspitze (17) und eine sich an die Einstechspitze (17) anschließende Schneide (8) mit einer mit dem Deckel (10) in Schneidposition (28) in Eingriff stehenden Schneidstelle (9) aufweist. Zur Führung der Konservendose (24) ist am Gehäuse (1) ein erster Anschlag (7) ausgebildet, der in Bewegungsrichtung (12) der Konservendose (24) hinter der Eingriffsstelle (29) am Dosenöffner befestigt ist. Am Messer (3) ist ein zweiter Anschlag (15) vorgesehen, der in Schneidposition (28) des Dosenöffners von oben auf den Börderrand (6) einwirkt.
