[origin: EP0281023A2] The invention relates to an apparatus for the controlled and dosed filling of metallic powder into press moulds, with which it is intended to achieve a small deviation in the position and shape of the pressed parts, their high dimensional accuracy and uniformity of the material density. According to the invention, this is achieved by the filling shoe (1), which can be moved out of the mould region, being provided with a diaphragm closing means in the base plate (2), which means is opened by means of a lever arrangement when the filling shoe (1) is positioned directly above the filling space of the mould. The diaphragm closing means is controlled by a cam (16). The diaphragm is closed before the filling shoe (1) is moved away from the mould region. The essential advantages are the avoidance of a shadow effect and the obtaining of a uniform powder density during the filling process. <IMAGE>
