[origin: US4932352A] The invention provides a method and device for impregnating at least one elongate element by transferring a thermostabilizable substance from a supply station by means of a supply means, the element being moved in front of the transfer means which includes a mobile surface passing in front of the station then in front of the element, the substance being deposited on the surface in said station and being transferred therefrom at least partially onto the element in a zone close thereto, wherein the transfer means includes thermoregulation means such as heating means, adapted so that the temperature at the surface in the impregnation zone is substantially higher than that of the substance in said supply station.

L'imprégnation se fait par transfert de substance (8) thermostabilisable depuis un poste d'alimentation (7) au moyen d'un organe de transfert (3), l'élément (1) étant déplacé devant l'organe de transfert (3) qui comporte une surface mobile passant devant le poste (7) puis devant l'élément (1), la substance étant déposée sur la surface au niveau du poste (7) et en étant transféré au moins partiellement sur l'élément (1) dans une zone voisine de celui-ci. L'organe de transfert comporte des moyens de thermorégulation, tels des moyens de réchauffage (5), adaptés à ce que la température de la surface au niveau de la zone d'imprégnation (6) soit sensiblement supérieure à celle de la substance dans le poste d'alimentation (7). On maintient la température de la surface sensiblement supérieure à celle du poste. L'invention est notamment applicable à l'imprégnation d'éléments de renfort, tels des fils d'armature, disposés en nappes de fils parallèles, en tresses ou en tissus.
