To control ink coloration on an intaglio or flexographic printing machine, contrary to previous practice, use is made of a single and specially designed grey field (4) from which, by means of colorimetric acquisition and subsequent non-linear data processing, the actuating variables characteristic of the process (ink, dilution, solvent) are determined as a function of the reference values. <IMAGE>

Zur Steuerung der Farbgebung einer Tief- oder Flexodruckmaschine wird, entgegen der bisherigen Praxis, ein einziges, speziell ausgebildetes Graufeld (4) herangezogen, aus welchem mit farbmetrischer Erfassung und anschliessender nichtlinearer Informationsverarbeitung die prozesseigenen Steuergrössen (Farbe, Verschnitt, Lösungsmittel) in Funktion der Sollwerte bestimmt werden.
