Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0282916A2] The water storage heater consists of a storage container, arranged in a housing conducting a heating medium, with cold water supply connection and hot water delivery connection, the cold water connection, which is connected to the lower bottom of the storage container which is fixed with its upper part or at least with its hot water delivery pipe in the housing, being designed over at least a part of its length in the form of a flexible corrugated pipe. The cold water connection has as far as its point of exit from the inner space of the housing a length which is greater than the shortest distance between the wall of the storage container and of the housing surrounding the latter. In order to prevent weld seam tearing on the cold water pipe upon expansion movements of the storage container, it is envisaged that the section (5') of the cold water connection (3) designed as corrugated pipe (5) forms the greater part of its length inside the water-bearing housing inner space (1'), that the part of the cold water connection (3) projecting through the housing wall (1'') in the region of an opening (6), which in relation to its own diameter is larger, extends inside a hood-like covering (7) of the opening (6), and the penetration opening edge (8) of the covering (7) is connected to the pipe connection end region (9) of the cold water connection (3) in a liquid-tight manner. <IMAGE>
