In known word processing systems, "tab vertical stroke" is used to produce vertical lines. To do this, however, many inputs are necessary, such as set tab, move to tab, carriage return with line advance, etc. until a vertical line of the desired length is obtained. The object of the invention is a procedure for printing vertical and/or horizontal lines and especially for producing frames where only a few key strokes are necessary, which procedure is easy to carry out and learn. In the procedure in accordance with the invention, a special function key is provided, the first use of which engages the "line" function and stores the co-ordinates of the starting point in a register for line data and the second use of which disengages the "line" function and triggers the storage of the end co-ordinates of the lines to be produced. On disengagement of the special function key, automatic production of the lines or frames is simultaneously triggered. In accordance with the invention the production of any lines or frames on the record carrier by only a few key strokes is simple and reliable.

Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren zum Drucken von Vertikal- und/oder Horizontallinien und insbesondere zum Erstellen von Rahmen zu schaffen, wozu nur wenige Eingabemittel erforderlich sind und das einfach zu handhaben und zu erlernen ist. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren ist eine spezielle Funktionstaste (17) vorgesehen, durch deren erste Betätigung das Einschalten der Funktion "Linieren" und das Abspeichern der Koordinaten des Ausgangspunktes in einem Register (20) eines Liniendatenspeichers (24) ausgeführt und bei deren zweiten Betätigung das Ausschaltung der Funktion "Linieren" und das Abspeichern der Endkoordinaten der zu erstellenden Linien bzw. Rahmen ausgelöst wird. Mit dem Ausschalten der speziellen Funktionstaste (17) wird gleichzeitig das automatische Erstellen der Linien bzw. Rahmen ausgelöst. Erfindungsgemäß sind beliebige Linien und Rahmen auf dem Aufzeichnungsträger (9) mit nur wenigen Tastenbetätigungen sicher und einfach zu erzeugen.
