Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0283028A2] The electrical plug for flat cables has three rows (A, B, C) of terminal contact pieces (1), which are supported at a specific distance from one another in retaining holes (20) in a longitudinal dielectric material body (4). The said contact pieces (1) are in each case connected via a central connecting section (2) to cutting contact pieces (3), having a different spacing with respect to one another than the terminal contact pieces (1). A conductor (8) of the flat cable (9) can in each case be pressed into the cutting contact pieces (3), penetrating the insulation surrounding the conductor. A structurally and functionally particularly satisfying embodiment comprises cutting contact pieces (3) which are distributed on two parallel rows which are located essentially in planes between the three planes which govern the position of the three rows (A, B, C) of terminal contact pieces (1). A square dielectric material block (6), which is provided with holes (7) for the cutting contact pieces (3), can be inserted in a cut-out (5) formed on the top of the dielectric material body (4). Two channels (13, 14 or 34, 35), which are separated from one another, extend in the longitudinal direction, and are defined by the dielectric material block (6) or the dielectric material body (4), are provided for holding the central connecting sections (2). <IMAGE>
