Abstract (en)
To reduce intermodulation distortion in an RF FET amplifier operating in the Class AB mode without limiting the bandwidth, transformer (42,56) coupled outputs (76,82) are provided from both the source (12) and drain (14) circuits. The negative feedback provided by a transformer (56) in the source (12) circuit reduces distortion but does not limit bandwidth in the manner of the reactive network normally used for correct phasing in circuits employing drain to gate feedback. The distortion components are typically 40-45 below the desired signal when a two-tone test is used.
