[origin: US4848107A] In a batch washing machine which is divided by a screw conveyor into a plurality of wash chambers (I. . .IV) a bath level reduction can be provided in the final wash chamber by perforating the screw conveyor (and/or the wash trommel) in a region overlapping the reversing angle of 300 DEG for the wash motion of the wash trommel. One rotates the wash trommel as the need requires in the vicinity of the perforations. Water can escape in the desired amount in the final chamber in the sector with the perforations according to the extent of the rotation.

Bei einer Postenwaschmachine, welche durch eine Förderschnecke (2) in Waschkammern (I ...V) unterteilt ist, kann in der letzten Waschkammer (V) eine Badstandsreduzierung dadurch vorgenommen werden, daß die Förderschnecke (2) (bzw. die Waschtrommel (1)) in einem den Reversierwinkel von 300° für die Waschbewegung der Waschtrommel übersteigenden Bereich gelocht ist und man die Waschtrommel im Bedarfsfalle in den Bereich der Lochung (8) bzw. (9) dreht. Je nach dem Umfang der Drehung in den Sektor der Lochung kann Wasser in der gewünschten Menge in der letzten Kammer (V) entweichen.
