Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0283652A1] 1. A panel press for the manufacture of laminated panels, particularly coated hardfoam panels, - with a stationary lower press platen (1) and an upper press platen (2) supported movably upwards and downards in at least one portal frame (3), in which the lower press platen (1) is provided with longitudinal transport equipment (4) for the goods to be pressed, and the upper press platen (2) is connected via hydraulic piston-cylinder devices to the portal frame or frames (3), characterized in that each of the lower and upper press platens (1, 2) is constructed as a concrete platen reinforced by structural steel woven mats (5) and I-section longitudinal steel girders (6) attached thereto, that plywood panels (10) provided with air-blast openings and their upper surface forming the lower pressure surface (9) are fastened to the I-section longitudinal steel girders (6) of the lower press platen (1), the upper parts of which project out of the concrete platen and form longitudinal chambers (7), and longitudinal transport chains (15) are located between adjacent plywood panels (10), the upper stringers of which chains can be raised above the lower pressure surface (9) by means of lifting devices (16), and that the hydraulic piston-cylinder devices (12) are attached to the I-section longitudinal steel girders (6) of the upper press platen (2).
