[origin: US4827572A] In a plucking device, capable of travelling back and forth, for the plucking of fibers from bales of fiber two toothed rollers are provided. One is located before, and the other after, the toothed plucking roller, their axes being parallel to the axis of the latter. The arc of the base diameter at the bases of the teeth of these toothed rollers is tangent to a plane which lies within or below the plane tangent to the arc of the outside diameter of the plucking roller. The device makes it possible to limit the plucking action securely without using grates and to maintain it constant over the entire surface of the bale.

Bei einer hin- und herfahrbaren Vorrichtung zum Abarbeiten von Faserballen ist vor und hinter der mit Zähnen besetzten Abtragwalze (1) achsparallel zu dieser je eine Zahnwalze (2, 3) angeordnet. Der Fußkreis (F2, F3) der Zähne (21, 31) dieser auf die Ballenoberfläche drückenden Zahnwalzen (2, 3) tangiert eine Ebene (E2, E3), die in oder unterhalb der von Spitzenkreis (S1) der Abtragwalze (1) tangierten Ebene (E1) liegt. Die Vorrichtung ermöglicht es, die Abnahmemenge ohne Verwendung von Rosten sicher zu begrenzen und über die gesamte Ballenhöhe konstant zu halten.
