Abstract (en)
An air-tight loudspeaker housing has one or more built-in electromechanical transformers each with a movable, active membrane for sound radiation which are coupled to the outer and enclosed volumes of air and a passive membrane for sound radiation which is coupled to the outer and inner volumes of air and driven with minimal loss and attenuation by the pressure fluctuations in the housing. To improve the bass reproduction, the following features are provided: a) the passive membrane has an inherent internal resilience which counteracts distortions; b) the air volume enclosed in the housing is also resilient; c) the passive membrane is designed to develop the greatest possible number of resonances in the broadest possible range of frequencies when combined with the two resiliences.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein luftdicht geschlossenes Lautsprechergehäuse mit einem, oder mehreren, eingebauten elektromechanischen Wandlern, die eine bewegliche, aktive Membrane zur Schallabstrahlung haben, welche an das äußere und eingeschlossene Luftvolumen angekoppelt sind, und mit einer passiven Membrane zur Schallabstrahlung, die an das äußere und innere Luftvolumen angekoppelt ist und von den Druckschwankungen im Gehäuse möglichst verlustfrei und dämpfungsarm angetrieben wird. Zur Verbesserung der Baßwiedergabe sind folgende Merkmale vorgesehen: a) die passive Membrane weist eine eigene, innere Federkraft auf, die Verformungen entgegenwirkt. b) das im Gehäuse eingeschlossene Luftvolumen weist eine weitere Federkraft auf. c) die passive Membran ist so ausgebildet, daß sie in Verbindung mit den beiden Federkräften in einem möglichst großen Frequenzbereich möglichst viele Resonanzen ausbilden kann.
