[origin: EP0285027A2] The mounting for a catalytically effective monolith in a casing in the exhaust pipe of a liquid fuel engine is shown. The mounting is carried out in a known manner by means of a fabric enveloping the monolith. The invention consists of a section with unformed fibres being provided in the fabric, in which section there are incorporated one or more sealing strips so that the retaining characteristics are improved with good sealing with respect to exhaust gas which flows around the monolith, and the sealing strip is protected against wear, and hence destruction, and is fixed securely in its position. <IMAGE>
