Abstract (en)
A device for starting and operating a two-pin socket fluorescent lamp (10) has a ballast (16) located in the mains supply (11, 12) and a starter (15). The fluorescent lamp (10) is provided with preheating filaments (13, 14) and it is thus impossible to use this type of fluorescent lamp in explosion and/or fire hazard regions. As a result of a starter monitoring device (20) being allocated to the starter (15), and a current measurement device (19) being allocated to one of the heating filaments (13, 14) of the fluorescent lamp (10), and a disconnection device (17, 18) (which - controlled by the starter monitoring device and the current measurement device - can be operated for the purpose of disconnection) being located in the supply line (11, 12) to the fluorescent lamp (10), it is also possible to use such lamps in explosion and/or fire hazard regions, since immediate disconnection occurs in the event of lamp failure. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Eine Anordnung zum Starten und Betrieb einer Zweistift-Sockel-Leuchtstofflampe (10) besitzt ein in der Netzzuführung (11, 12) liegendes Vorschaltgerät (16) und einen Starter (15). Die Leuchtstofflampe (10) ist mit Vorheizwendeln (13, 14) versehen und deshalb ist es nicht möglich, diese Art der Leuchtstofflampen in explosions- und/oder schlagwettergefährdeten Bereichen einzusetzen. Dadurch, daß dem Starter (15) eine Starterüberwachungseinrichtung (20) und einer der Heizwendeln (13, 14) der Leuchtstofflampe (10) eine Strommeßeinrichtung (19) zugeordnet sind, und daß in der Versorgungsleitung (11, 12) zur Leuchtstofflampe (10) eine Abschaltvorrichtung (17, 18) liegt, die - gesteuert von der Starterüberwachungseinrichtung und Strommeßeinrichtung - zwecks Abschalten betätigbar ist, können auch solche Lampen in explosions- und/oder schlagwettergefährdeten Bereichen eingesetzt werden, weil bei Lampenbruch eine sofortige Abschaltung bewirkt wird.
