Covering and/or cladding element, comprising a plate of cellular material having good thermal insulation properties and a coating skin integral with the said plate, the said coating skin providing, over at least one edge of the element, a strip which is projecting in relation to the edge of the plate which it borders. The said strip (30) is disposed substantially in the plane of the face (14) of the plate (11) opposite that carrying the coating skin (12), the said strip serving to attach the element to an underlying support (S) with the aid of mechanical means such as nails, screws, pins or the like.
