[origin: EP0285921A2] The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for breaking up brittle material which is initially broken up in a roller mill using high pressure and forming agglomerates, then experiences a treatment in order to disintegrate agglomerates and is subsequently graded on a sieve grader, the oversized particles being fed back to the roller mill and the portion of the product which grades the sieve grader being fed to a circulating mill arrangement. Such a method is characterised by an evened-out milling operation in both breaking-up stages, requires a lower energy consumption for the conveying of the material for milling from the first to the second breaking-up stage and thus permits a relatively large spatial distance between the two breaking-up stages.
