[origin: EP0285994A2] The material consisting of a base, at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least one protective layer which contains a gelatine digested under alkaline conditions and having a viscosity of at least 20 mPa.s, measured at 40 DEG C in a 10% by weight aqueous solution, and a QH value of less than 35%, measured at 20 DEG C and 60% relative humidity, and less than 50%, measured after equalisation for 4 hours at 34 DEG C and saturated atmospheric humidity, shows improvements in the avoidance of distorted grain effects and does not tend to soiling in used developer solutions.
