[origin: US4850401A] The weft yarn store includes a stationary drum for a supply of weft yarn as well as an electromagnetic yarn clamp for retaining the weft yarn on the drum periphery. The clamp includes a locking pin which is connected to an armature of the electromagnet for pressing a yarn against an abutment surface of the drum. The electromagnetic yarn clamp is also provided with apertures through which cooling air may flow into and through the clamp in order to cool the winding and armature. In addition, the cooling air may be directed onto the abutment surface of the drum to keep this area free from deposits of fluff.

Bei einem Schussfadenspeicher für eine Webmaschine mit einer stillstehenden Trommel (11) zur Speicherung eines Schussfadenvorrates ist eine elektromagnetische Fadenklemme (2) zum Festhalten des Schussfadens am Trommelumfang bei Schusseintragsende vorgesehen. Die Fadenklemme (2) betätigt mittels eines Elektromagneten (20) einen Sperrstift (21) gegen einen Anschlag (22) auf der Speichertrommel (11). Der Sperrstift (21) bildet mit dem Magnetanker (26) eine Einheit, die je nach Zustand des Elektromagneten (20) gegen einen oberen Anschlagpuffer (28) oder einen unteren Anschlag (29) gedrückt wird. Zur Kühlung der Fadenklemme, insbesondere des oberen Anschlages (28,35) und der Magnetwicklung (25), wird Kühlluft durch einen Luftanschluss (23) in das Innere der Fadenklemme (2) geleitet, worauf diese Kühlluft durch Oeffnungen (34) gegen die Oberfläche der Speichertrommel (11) austretend den Bereich um den Anschlag (22) für die Fadenklemme von Flugablagerungen freihält.
