[origin: US4806073A] In a side-channel compressor having a rotor rotatably supported in a housing, the improvement wherein at least one dust stripper protrudes into a gap between the housing and a rotor to prevent the accumulation of dust in the gap. Preferably, the dust stripper protrudes into a radial gap between a lateral extension of a blade ring portion of the rotor and a lateral extension of the housing. Additionally, the dust stripper is preferably circumferentially located in the inlet half of the compressor so that the pressure gradient in the compressor assists in the removal of dust stripped by the dust stripper. Additionally, or in the alternative, an axially extending dust stripper may be provided in an axial gap between the housing and a hub portion of the rotor.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Seitenkanalverdichter mit einem in seinem Gehäuse drehbar gelagerten Laufrad. Das Laufrad (4) besteht aus einem an einem scheibenförmigen Nabenteil (6) und einem am Außenumfang dieses Nabenteiles (6) angeordneten Schaufelkranz (7), der den Nabenteil (6) mindestens auf einer Seite in Richtung der Drehachse seitlich überragt. Das Gehäuse (1) des Seitenkanalverdichters untergreift den den Nabenteil (6) seitlich überragenden Abschnitt (8) des Schaufelkranzes (7) unter Belassung eines radialen Spaltes (10) zumindest teilweise. Eine Blockierung des Laufrades durch sich in dem Spalt (10) ablagernden Staub wird dadurch verhindert, daß an dem den Schaufelkranz (7) untergreifenden Teil (9) des Gehäuses (1) mindestens ein radial in den Spalt (10) ragender Abstreifer (11) angeordnet ist, der sich annähernd über die volle Breite des untergreifenden Teiles (9) des Gehäuses (1) erstreckt.
