[origin: US4852261A] The invention relates to a knife insert for tools with an oscillating head, preferably of the type used for cutting open rubber or adhesive beading strips around windscreens and having a cutting face bounded by one or a plurality of cutting edges. When producing such a knife, in order to be able to use less expensive material and in order to be able considerably to reduce the reciprocating movements of the shank when driven by a tool which performs oscillatory rotary movements, it is according to the invention proposed that the knife be angled over in an L-shape at right-angles to its cutting face, the cutting face forming a first leg of the L, and the second leg of the L which extends substantially at a right-angle from the cutting face comprising a connecting element for connection to an actuating tool.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Messereinsatz (1) für Werkzeuge mit Schwingkopf, vorzugsweise von der Art, wie sie für das Auftrennen von Gummi- oder Klebewülsten an Windschutzscheiben verwendet werden, mit einer Schneidfläche (2), welche durch eine oder mehrere Schneidkanten begrenzt wird. Um bei der Herstellung eines solchen Messers weniger teures Material zu verbrauchen und die Hubbewegungen des Schaftes beim Antrieb durch ein Werkzeug, welches oszillatorische Drehbewegungen ausführt, erheblich zu reduzieren, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß das Messer (1) senkrecht zu seiner Schneidfläche (2) L-förmig abgewinkelt ist, wobei die Schneidfläche einen ersten L-Schenkel bildet, und daß der von der Schneidfläche sich im wesentlichen senkrecht erstreckende zweite L-Schenkel (3) ein Verbindungselement (4) zur Verbindung mit einem Betätigungswerkzeug aufweist.
