For rolling steel bars with grooved rolls 1,2, the rolls are provided with gradually increasing diameter zones I,II,III for pass incisions a,b,c in zones of equal diameter on each roll. Since the rolls can be operated in a mirror-inverted fashion and can be brought into a mutually complementary working position by a relative axial displacement and a screw-down movement, each rolled section can be allocated the roll-barrel diameter which brings ideal rolling conditions. <IMAGE>

Zum Walzen von Stabstahl mit Kaliberwalzen (1,2) erhalten die Walzen stufenweise ansteigende Durchmesserbereiche I,II,III für Kalibereinschnitten a,b,c in walzenweise gleichen Durchmesserbereichen. Indem die Walzen spiegelbildlich umgekehrt betreibbar und durch eine relative Axialverschiebung und Anstellung in sich ergänzende Wirklage bringbar sind, ist jedem Walzprofil derjenige Walzballendurchmesser zuzuordnen, der ideale Walzbedingungen mit sich bringt.
